Candy Free Valentine's Round Up
If you're like me and cringe when you know a big commercialized holiday is coming up that will shower the children of the earth with pounds and pounds of sugar, then this round up is for you! I wanted to put together some fun Valentine's ideas that do not involve any candy or food that could send your little one on a crazy sugar high since this is the week most school's will be celebrating the lovey-dovey holiday. If you have kids that are like mine and follow a strict grain-free, refined sugar-free, and everything-else-free lifestyle, or if they are on a healing protocol or suffer from food allergies, these are great ways to let them be included in school traditions of passing out Valentine's. And a bonus is that they're cute, won't break the bank, and your kids could probably make them themselves! *hooray for a break for mom!

Last year, my son made the Maze Valentine's that said, "You're A-Maze-ing", and my daughter made some with straws that said, "You're ex-straw special!", and they were a hit! This year my son chose the mustache and my daughter chose the pencils. I will be picking up one refined sugar free and preservative free fun candy for each of them to trade them for all the yucky stuff they get from friends as a special treat.
Have you ever done a candy free Valentine's Day? What did you do? Which one of these would you choose?
